FAQ's

Lockers are available to rent for £5 per academic year.

This then covers us to be able to carry out any repairs to lockers each summer.

In order to rent a locker, you should ask your parent/carer to purchase via Tucasi SCOPay online.

All of the information regarding the Chartwells Catering Service can be found here.

At Woodlands we place a strong emphasis on ensuring that all of our students leave us with a secure post 16 plan.

Our extensive careers programme ensures that all students have careers education delivered through PSHE lessons throughout the year for all year groups, alongside a range of exciting careers- based events. Please click HERE to follow the link to our PSHE and careers overview.

All children, regardless of age, gender, ability, culture, race, language, religion or sexual identity, have equal rights to protection.

All staff are aware they have an equal responsibility to act on any suspicion or disclosure that may suggest a child is at risk of harm and must fully understand the need to safeguard children.

Safeguarding is taken to mean “protecting children from maltreatment; preventing impairment of children’s mental
and physical health or development; ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision
of safe and effective care; and taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes”. Our safeguarding
practice applies to every child.

Pupils at Woodlands Community College use the Internet on a regular basis as part of their learning. In school, we have regular ‘e-safety’ activities to remind pupils of the importance of keeping themselves safe online. At home, sometimes children can be given unsupervised access to the Internet. This, potentially, allows them to access all kinds of society (both good and bad) and bring them virtually into their homes.

Please click on this link to read about our online e-safety advice.

At Woodlands, we work tirelessly to try to ensure that our students get the best possible curriculum and support.  We try to extend this beyond the normal school hours, by scheduling Homework Club, Homework Detentions (where students have been given a detention for not completing homework) and by publishing our resources on the internet and subscribing to educational content.
