School Meals at Woodlands

At Woodlands, our facilities management services, such as cleaning, catering and grounds maintenance is provided by Mitie FM.  The food catering services are provided by Mitie’s sub-contractor Chartwells.
The school works hard to ensure a good service is provided for students, and that the food provided offers good value for money.

Food is served three times per day at Woodlands.

Breakfast

From 8:00-8:20am, the school offers a subsidized breakfast service. Students can purchase a small selection of hot and cold items. This is available in the main servery only. Please see the price list here.

Breaktime
During morning break from 10:55-11:15, students can purchase a range of hot and cold snacks and drinks.
This is available from the main servery and the snack shack on the lower playground. Please see the price list here

Lunchtime
Lunchtime is split, with Y7 and Y9 eating first (Plus Y11 during exam periods only), and Y8. 10 and 11 eating during second lunch. A wide range of meals and snacks are on offer, however, the best value is to purchase one of the meal deals that are available for £2.20 or a free school meal allowance – this offers a significant discount on the price of individual items. Students can select one hot of cold main item, a piece of fruit or a traybake, and either juice or water.

Menus & Quick Links

The school operates a three-weekly rotation of menu items. The menus can be seen above.

In addition to the weekly menu, we will offer theme day menus and special event menus such as Christmas lunch throughout the year.
Please see the price list for additional items here.

The kitchen is able to support a number of medical diets. Please contact Miss Sutton to find out more.

Paying for school meals No cash is taken in payment for school meals. Money must be uploaded to the Parent Pay system and transferred to your child’s lunch account. This should be done in plenty of time, as accounts are not permitted to run at a deficit.

To access your Parent Pay account please click here:
https://app.parentpay.com/public/client/security/v2/#/login

Year 7 students will be provided with their account details in advance of the start of the school year, but if you need any help in accessing your account, please email us at: it-support@woodlands.southampton.sch.uk

With the use of technology and biometric information, we aim to improve the break and lunch time experiences for all our students by reducing the amount of time they have to spend in queues. Our preferred form of payment is through finger image recognition, which is much quicker and is unique to your child at all times.

To give permission for your child to have their finger image captured and stored, please complete the online form here: https://forms.gle/9UCA5vVn5r4KZAZ26.

Finger images are captured and then encrypted and transferred to the remote secure storage server of the catering technology provider Cunninghams.

Students and parents/carers can therefore be assured that images cannot be used by any other source for identification purposes.

If parents would prefer their child not use biometric technology, students will be provided with a PIN number that they must enter at the till when purchasing their items. They must not share this with any other student.
