The Community Champions programme is run by Saints Foundation, the charity of Southampton Football Club. They place full-time members of staff in secondary schools across the city, using the Saints badge to connect with young people and bring a different dynamic to school life.
Saints Foundation supports people in need throughout Southampton, providing life-changing opportunities to help our city and its communities thrive. Find out more about their programmes, which support people of all ages and abilities: southamptonfc.com/saints-foundation
James is our Saints Foundation Community Champion. He is based in school four days a week to provide additional support and alternative opportunities for our pupils.
GET TO KNOW YOUR COMMUNITY CHAMPION

Originally from North London, I moved to Southampton to attend University. I graduated from Solent with a first-class honours degree in Sports and Business in 2018. My career started in a specialist SEND school where I found a passion for supporting young people with complex needs. The Community Champion role allows me to support a huge number of young people towards turning their potential into excellence. This looks different for every young person and that is what makes this role so rewarding.

SAINTS KICKS
Saints Foundation also run Premier League Kicks – fun, free football sessions for 8 to 18 year olds in Southampton. They’re free and open access, so young people can just turn up and play.
Our local Kicks session runs at Woodlands Hub on Friday at 7 – 8.30pm. Female-only Kicks sessions run at Redbridge School on Mondays at 4.30pm, at Southampton Sports Centre on Tuesdays at 4.30pm, and at Oasis Academy Mayfield on Wednesdays at 4.30pm.
